My Blog

I never thought I would use my blog for religious or political reasons. After reading some of the blogs out there that were not intended for anything but DIY and decorating but some how managed to sneak politics and religion into them I would like to add my thoughts and opinion. I am what I will consider an moderate Democrat I completely believe in helping the less fortunate and in social programs such as public education public libraries Social Security and so on. I also believe that people need to learn how to take care of themselves and many programs do not teach them to do so, they make them to dependent on those programs. Now for the religious part I am not a religious person at all and I hope never to be one. I once believed in god and all that and I found that it made me a hypocrite and unmoral. I live my life giving as much as I can, never hurting any living creature that includes people, I live my life trying to tell the truth although I will admit sometimes I don't. I don't steal or cheat and I love deeply. So why would anyone think that an agnostic or an atheist is not moral? I can give you the answer. Because religion makes you judge and condemn it doesn't change with time it doesn't allow a place for ALL good human beings That's why it has no place in my life. Because without religion I am very accepting loving kind and yes Moral. If kindenss and acceptance were religions I would be a preacher.

  1. Hi - well, I won't even go into politics, but I must say that I am VERY religious. Or, one might say "spiritual." I am Catholic, I don't go to church, I judge people ALL the time... If that makes me a hypocrite, well, I say, "OK, whatever anyone wants to call me is fine by me." How the HELL can I be religious then? Well, I believe in God; I know that God loves me even WITH my faults; without the Good Lord I know that I wouldn't be able to make it day by day; I 'talk' to God ALL the time; I am grateful for everything He allows me to have; I am grateful and humbled that He blessed me with my son; I am grateful that He has provided for my son and I; I try to be kind and generous to others, even if it's only giving $10 or $20 every so often to charities, such as St. Jude's Hospital, to make Him happy and show my thanks, even though I am out of a job; I am grateful knowing that if I need anything, I can pray to God and He will help; oh, I could go on and on. So I guess I an not the normal religious person, or a nice, good person and maybe a hypocrite -- I guess I am just an 'abnormal' Gloria!

  2. P.S. Hey, I just thought of a good deed for you: come to my blog and visit me -- I love comments! LOL!

  3. Nice to meet you. I'm impressed with how bold you are at expressing your opinions. That takes a lot of courage!

Do you think the statement "religion makes you judge and condemn" could be considered a judgmental statement toward religious people?

There are a lot of religions. I know of at least one that specifically teaches not to judge.

On a side note, I am loving all of the great DIY projects on your blog. I will check back again soon!
